A bank has sent me 2 credit cards when I do not need any. How do I get rid of these ?

A bank has sent me 2 credit cards when I do not need any. I have heard that the credit cards are ‘not activated’ when they arrive through mail.

They get activated only upon usage. Is it true ? Can I simply destroy these credit cards without using them ?

I have had a bad experience in getting the help-line agents to cancel the credit cards earlier, so do not want to call them this time.

The Bank has already linked the credit cards to my savings account. I can see the credit cards when I check my savings account through internet. Will they debit the annual charges even if I do not use these cards ?
